About Dr. Alexia Georgousis

Alexia Georgousis is originally from Calgary Alberta where she obtained her degree in Physical Education. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1999. Alexia then continued at the college for an additional two years obtaining her residency diploma as well as starting her private practice. She continues to be involved with CCNM as a clinic supervisor and associate professor. Alexia was the recipient of the ‘Excellence in Clinical Teaching’ award as determined by CCNM’s 2008 graduating class.

Alexia’s private practice is eclectic using all of the naturopathic modalities. She works with individuals with a variety of concerns, ranging from digestive to skin, anxiety, menstrual, cardiovascular, endocrine, body image as well as general well being.

Prior to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor, Alexia was employed as a physical education teacher, radio journalist in Athens, Greece, a researcher as well as a sport administrator. In addition, Alexia was a member of Alberta’s cycling and luge teams and competed in the Canada Games as well as various national and international races. Alexia was also a member of the University of Calgary women’s soccer team.

Alexia is also a singer/song writer and was the winner of the 1998 Greek-Canadian song of the year. She continues to play, sing and write songs as part of balance in her life.

Alexia is dedicated to learning and growing in all aspects of her own life. This commitment allows her to provide patients with new ideas and possibilities, while reinforcing the development of self-trust and empowerment.
